Para celebrar 100 años de historia y tradición joyera, Berger Joyeros ha recopilado en papel las vivencias de la familia Berger, desde su salida de Europa a causa de la Segunda Guerra Mundial hasta la consolidación de la joyería como una de las más importantes de México y del mundo. Berger, cien años es un libro que busca celebrar el primer siglo de una tradición de orfebres que se remonta a la familia Berger en Bélgica, antes de la Segunda Guerra Mundial.
La obra narra la historia de cómo el abuelo Berger, un destacado tallador de diamantes, se vio obligado a escapar de Europa ante la amenaza nazi junto a sus dos hijos. Después de un arduo y peligroso recorrido para salvar sus vidas, llegaron a Cuba, donde el abuelo estableció una importante escuela de tallado de diamantes. Al emigrar a México, la familia continuó esta tradición y expandió su conocimiento en el comercio de diamantes, piedras preciosas y perlas, trasladando su expertise europea a Latinoamérica.
To celebrate 100 years of history and jewelry tradition, Berger Joyeros has compiled on paper the experiences of the Berger family, since their departure from Europe because of World War II until the consolidation of the jewelry as one of the most important in Mexico and the world. “Berger, one hundred years” is a book that seeks to celebrate the first century of a goldsmith tradition that dates back to the Berger family in Belgium, before World War II.
The book tells the story of how grandfather Berger, a prominent diamond cutter, was forced to flee Europe in the face of the Nazi threat with his two sons. After an arduous and dangerous journey to save their lives, they arrived in Cuba, where the grandfather established an important diamond cutting school. Upon emigrating to Mexico, the family continued this tradition and expanded their knowledge in the diamond, gemstone and pearl trade, transferring their European expertise to Latin America.
